Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Antanas Valionis welcomed the decision by the Russian Federation Council to ratify the Lithuanian-Russian treaties on the state border, the exclusive economic zone and delimitation of the continental shelf in the Baltic Sea.
This decision by the Federation Council means that the Lithuanian-Russian border treaties’ ratification procedure in the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation is completed.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is still to sign the laws on the border treaties’ ratification adopted by the Federal Assembly.
The treaties will be valid after exchange of ratification documents between the two countries.
