Foreign Minister to pay a working visit to London

On 10-12 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Kęstutis Budrys will pay a working visit to the UK.

Budrys will meet with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy in London. The heads of diplomacy of Lithuania and the United Kingdom will discuss the security situation in the region, support for Ukraine, relations between the European Union and the United Kingdom, and the strengthening of bilateral relations between Lithuania and the United Kingdom.

“The role and leadership of the United Kingdom is important for a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine and a stronger, more resilient and more united Europe. It is important to work actively with our UK allies in all formats, both NATO and bilaterally,” says the Foreign Minister.

The Foreign Minister will also participate in the Aurora Forum, a meeting of minds interested in security and prosperity in the region,  stretching from the United Kingdom across the High North to the Nordic & Baltic countries. Budrys will speak in a discussion on the future of European security and transatlantic relations and will participate in a closed Nordic, Baltic and UK ministerial-level discussion on strengthening regional security.

On 11 March, the Foreign Minister will meet with the members of the Lithuanian community in the United Kingdom and commemorate the Day of Restoration of Lithuania's Independence. With the heads of Lithuanian schools and other organizations, Budrys will discuss strengthening the civic activity of the diaspora and its involvement in the life of Lithuania.

During his visit to London, the Foreign Minister will also take part in working meetings with representatives of analytical centres operating in the country.
