FOREIGN MINISTER TO PARTICIPATE IN EURO-ATLANTIC PARTNERSHIP COUNCIL SECURITY FORUM

On 24-25 May delegation headed by Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis takes part in Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council Security Forum in Åre, Sweden.

This is the first meeting of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council of this kind. In the Forum “Managing Security - Our Common Challenge” ministers, diplomats, security experts, NGO representatives will look for ways of addressing unresolved conflicts in Europe, discuss strengthening of NATO’s partnerships and perspectives of cooperation in Central Asia and in the Balkans.
Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs is going to take part in discussion of the work group considering Europe’s unresolved conflicts.
It is planned that in Åre Antanas Valionis will meet with Foreign Minister of Slovenia, which chairs the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in 2005 Dimitrij Rupel, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, and NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
