FOREIGN MINISTER TAKES PART IN THE SIXTH WTO MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE IN HONG KONG

On 13-18 December a delegation led by Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis participates in the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Sixth Ministerial Conference in Hong Kong.
The participants of the Sixth WTO Ministerial Conference should evaluate progress made in the Doha Negotiations Round and set framework for further negotiations.
The main Lithuania’s interest in the Doha Negotiations Round is the opening of goods and services market for Lithuanian exporters and setting the trade rules that would facilitate access to foreign markets.
The Sixth WTO Ministerial Conference should adopt an important development package aiming at supporting the economic growth of the least developed countries and their participation in the world trade.
