FOREIGN MINISTER TAKES PART IN NATO FOREIGN MINISTERS MEETING IN BRUSSELS
On 7-8 December Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis takes part in annual meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels.
Alongside the North Atlantic Council meeting the informal dinner of foreign ministers of NATO and non-NATO European states will take place. Meetings of the NATO-Russia Council, the NATO-Ukraine Commission and the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council at the level of Foreign Ministers will also be held.
The ministers are to discuss operations and missions in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Iraq, Darfur and Pakistan. The situation in the Balkans and the Near East as well as the development of NATO partnership will be considered.
The ministers will also set the framework for the Summit meeting of NATO Heads of State and Government that is planned to take place in November 2006.
