FOREIGN MINISTER PARTICIPATES IN SEMINAR ON NORDIC-LITHUANIAN COOPERATION

On 12 June Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis presented Lithuania’s economic achievements and investment possibilities at the seminar “Nordic Research and Innovation Cooperation with Lithuania”.
The Minister indicated that the Lithuanian economy was the largest and the most diverse of all the Baltic States at the moment, as Lithuania had the treaties of investment encouragement and protection with over thirty countries in the world and the laws on investment were harmonised with the EU standards.
Minister Valionis also informed on the liberalisation of the Lithuanian trade and its integration to the world markets as well as on the strategies of economic development and business environment improvement. He also stressed the importance of political cooperation in business development and Lithuania’s preparedness to exchange its experience in various fields of activities.
