FOREIGN MINISTER ON A WORKING VISIT TO UKRAINE
On 14-15 November Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis is on a working visit to Ukraine.
During the visit the Minister is to meet with the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Vladimir Litvin, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Yekhanurov, Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Borys Tarasyuk, the Secretary of the Council of National Security and Defence of Ukraine Anatoliy Kinakh and the leader of “Y. Tymoshenko bloc” Former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
The visit is organized before the EU-Ukraine leaders’ meeting in Kiev on 1 December and The Community of democratic choice meeting in Kiev on 1-2 December.
In the meetings with Ukrainian officials it is planned to discuss the issues of Lithuanian-Ukrainian bilateral cooperation, further development of EU-Ukraine and NATO-Ukraine relations, internal situation in Ukraine before parliamentary elections in March 2006, regional cooperation issues and consider Lithuania’s proposal to share Euro-Atlantic integration experience with Ukraine.
