On June 18, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a delegation lead by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Antanas Valionis met with representatives of the International Committee on Jewish Community Property. The Jewish delegation was lead by Rabbi Andrew Baker, Coordinator of the International Committee on Jewish Community Property in Lithuania. During the meeting, the issues of the Jewish historical quarters reconstruction, the Jewish cultural heritage, restitution of the property of the Jewish religious communities were discussed. On June 19, the Jewish delegation will meet with Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Algirdas Brazauskas, Minister of Culture Roma Dovydėnienė, Minister of Justice Vytautas Markevičius, who is also Head of the newly formed Working Group on Jewish Property Restitution. The International Committee on Jewish Community Property Restitution was formed on the basis of the International Ad Hoc Committee on Torah Scrolls in Lithuania for further work with the Lithuanian Negotiation Group on Jewish Property Restitution.
