FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS NEW LATVIAN AMBASSADOR TO LITHUANIA

On 18 August, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Antanas Valionis met the new Latvian Ambassador to Lithuania Armands Gūtmanis.
During the meeting, the Minister welcomed the Ambassador in Lithuania and underlined the necessity to further develop the bilateral relations and to adjust the countries’ positions in the European Union (EU) with the Nordic States.
At the meeting, relations with the EU Eastern neighbours were also discussed.
Armands Gūtmanis replaced Maira Mora at the ambassador’s post. Before this appointment he occupied the position of undersecretary of state at the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
