Dear representatives of foreign media,
We would like to inform you that starting from tomorrow, February 25th, you will be able to collect your accreditation cards to the inaugural ceremony of the President of Lithuania Rolandas Paksas, scheduled for February 26th.
Representatives of foreign media are invited to collect their accreditation cards at the Press Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania (J.Tumo-Vaizganto str. 2, Vilnius, phone number +370 5 236 24 54). Office hours: 8.30-12.00 and 13.00-18.30.
Accredited journalists will also be provided with all the information regarding the inaugural events.
Admission to the places of inaugural events will start one hour before the beginning of the event. Admission will be closed twenty minutes before the beginning of the event.
Journalists who will attend the solemn sitting at the Seimas (parliament) are kindly advised to arrive at the Seimas one hour before the start of the sitting. You should be allowed to enter the Seimas after presenting your accreditation card to the inaugural ceremony – having presented your card, you will be issued temporary permits. If you encounter any problems while getting into the building of the Seimas, please contact the Press Office of the Seimas (phone +370 5 239 66 66).
Due to limited space and a large number of the accredited media representatives, admission to the Seimas will be limited.
Journalists who will work at the Office of the President and in the Daukantas Square will be provided with a list indicating their division into groups. Together with the lists journalists will also receive information regarding the sites where each group will have a possibility to work during the inaugural events.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact only cameramen and photographers will be issued special pool cards. The other journalists will be invited to the press centres at the Office of the President and also for the ceremonies in the Independence Square and Daukantas Square.
The inaugural ceremony will be broadcast in the press centres at the Office of the President.
