EXHIBITION ON NATIONAL MINORITIES IN LITHUANIA OPENS AT THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE
On 26 January at the Palace of Europe in Strasbourg, Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the Council of Europe, Ambassador Gediminas Šerkšnys opened an exhibition “National Minorities in Lithuania”.
The exhibition presents Lithuania’s national minorities, their representatives, as well as regulations that ensure the full exercise of minority rights in the country.The opening of the exhibition was attended by diplomats, participants of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly’s winter session and representatives from the Secretariat of the Council of Europe.
At the opening, welcome speeches were also delivered by head of the Lithuanian delegation to the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Seimas (Parliament) of Lithuania Emanuelis Zingeris and Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Maud de Boer-Buquicchio.
The exhibition in Strasbourg will be on display until 4 February.
