EXHIBITION DISPLAYS WORKS BY FAMOUS MEXICAN ENGRAVER AT THE LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY

An exhibition at the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will display works of art by famous Mexican illustrator and engraver José Guadalupe Posada until 27 April. In the engravings, the artist uses the image of a skull, which is so popular in Mexico, and ridicules the upper-class society. His satirical and political cartoons have significantly influenced many South American artists.

The exhibition was organized in cooperation with the Mexican Embassy and is dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Mexico.

On 5 November 1991, Mexico formally recognized the Independence of Lithuania and accepted Lithuania’s proposal to re-establish diplomatic relations.

Please register in advance to see the exhibition by phone (85) 236 2967 or via e-mail at aiste.marozaite@urm.lt.
