EUROPEAN NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICY AND ENERGY SECURITY ISSUES WERE DISCUSSED IN PARIS

On 24 November Undersecretary of Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Laimonas Talat-Kelpša took part in a round-table discussion “The future of security in Europe:  European Neighborhood Policy and energy security” organized in Paris by Lithuanian Embassy to France. Diplomats of French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of the Ministry of Economy and experts in international relations from institutes of international policy studies of both states took part in the discussion.

The participants discussed in details the issues of European security important for Lithuania and France and paid special attention to the Eastern dimension of European Neighborhood Policy and relations with potential partners in European Union’s energy cooperation.

Undersecretary of Lithuanian Foreign Ministry Mr Talat-Kelpša continued presentation of Lithuanian position on the EU issues and delivered a report on the European Neighbourhood Policy and enlargement of the euro area and participated in a seminar “The role of the European Union in the world in the next 30 years” organized in the French Senate by the Funds of the History of European Civilization.
