EHU RECTOR THANKS LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER FOR HIS SIGNIFICANT SUPPORT OF THE BELARUSIAN UNIVERSITY IN EXILE

On July 4, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis received a letter from the Rector of the European Humanities University (EHU) Anatoli Mikhailov. The Professor thanked the Minister for the consistent and sincere support that increases faith in the University’s meaningful mission in the future.

Recently, at the 20th anniversary of the founding of EHU, Ažubalis expressed belief that the young people who study at the University would be able to take their due part in the development of the society of their country towards the openness to the Western values.

Mikhailov wrote in the thank-you letter: “We have a lot of work ahead of us. However, our students, teachers and friends continue to inspire us to work harder in an attempt to organize humanitarian education in a free and democratic environment”.

EHU was founded in Belarus in 1992, but the government forced it into exile in Vilnius in 2005.

Currently, more than 1800 students are enrolled in EHU. Most of them are citizens of Belarus.
