ECONOMY AND ENERGY TOP THE AGENDA DURING MEETINGS IN ESTONIA

During an official visit to Estonia on 17 February, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas met with President of the Riigikogu (Parliament) Ene Ergma, Prime Minister Andrus Ansip and Minister of Foreign Affairs Urmas Paet. Bilateral relations, cooperation of the Baltic States, important issues of security policy and European Union’s agenda were discussed during these meetings. Special attention was dedicated to the matters of economy and energy.

Lithuanian and Estonian foreign ministers signed a bilateral agreement concerning the representation of states when issuing Schengen visas in Yerevan (Armenia) and Kaliningrad (Russia).

In Tallinn, Minister of Foreign Affairs V.Ušackas unveiled a memorial plaque that marks the building on Kiriku street 6 which housed the first Lithuania‘s diplomatic representation in Estonia from 1920 to 1938.

At the Embassy of Lithuania the Minister met with Lithuanian businessmen working in Estonia.
