ECONOMIC COOPERATION BETWEEN LITHUANIA AND BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA IS PROMOTED
On 8 September in Vilnius, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas met with Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nikola Špirić, who is on official visit to Lithuania. During the meeting, head of Lithuanian diplomacy presented Lithuania’s economic interests in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Minister also noted with satisfaction that the interest of Lithuanian businessmen in Bosnia and Herzegovina was increasing.
‘Our further investment into this country and the whole region will depend also on the success and experience of Lithuanian businessmen, who have invested in Bosnia and Herzegovina,’ said P.Vaitiekūnas.
Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs supported the goals of Bosnia and Herzegovina to achieve the EU and NATO membership. P.Vaitiekūnas indicated that Lithuania was ready to consult Bosnia and Herzegovina on the issues of integration into the EU and NATO. The Minister suggested organising a traineeship for the diplomats from Bosnia and Herzegovina at Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the situation in the Western Balkans and the issue of Kosovo were also discussed. The interlocutors agreed to aim at signing an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation between Lithuania and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the nearest future.
