EASTERN PARTNERSHIP SUMMIT IN VILNIUS IS DISCUSSED AT CLINGENDAEL INSTITUTE
On 8 November in The Hague, the Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrius Krivas attended the seminar “The Vilnius Summit: Brussels versus Moscow?” and underlined that Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia made good progress in implementing political and economic reforms when striving to conclude the Association Agreements, including Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the European Union, which enabled the countries to get closer to European norms and standards.
“Merely signing or initialling agreements at the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius is not enough. Ensuring their speedy and effective implementation is equally important,” A.Krivas said.
At the event, Georgian Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration Alex Petriashvili presented his country’s approach towards the future of the Eastern Partnership initiative. The discussion was attended by Konstantinos Vardakis, Deputy Head of Europe and Central Asia Division at the European External Action Service, as well as high-ranking diplomats from the Netherlands and Sweden.
The event was co-organized by the Embassies of Lithuania and Georgia to the Netherlands and the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael.
