DISCUSSION ON COOPERATION BETWEEN LITHUANIAN AND POLISH FOREIGN MINISTRIES TAKES PLACE IN VILNIUS

A meeting of the Foreign and Security Policy Commission of the Lithuanian-Polish Intergovernmental Cooperation Council took place on 14 November in Vilnius. It was co-chaired by the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas and the Undersecretary of State of Poland Henryka Mościcka-Dendys. The meeting took place after a period of more than five years.

The meeting discussed key issues related to regional cooperation and bilateral relations, the 4th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region as well as cooperation in the fields of security policy and energy.

At the meeting, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister L.Linkevičius and H.Mościcka-Dendys reviewed Lithuania’s ongoing Presidency of the EU Council and preparations for the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit.

“I am pleased to resume our constructive and regular dialogue. We share a lot of interests and tasks in the European and transatlantic agenda. Joint effort is our formula for success of the Eastern Partnership Summit to be held in two weeks. The two countries are interested in the summit’s success,” L.Linkevičius said.
