DISCUSSION AND AWARDS CEREMONY WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE OCCASION OF THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF RE-ESTABLISHMENT OF LITHUANIAN-POLISH DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS
On 6 September, Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organizing a round-table discussion “Diplomatic aspects of the re-establishment and development of Lithuanian-Polish relations”, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the re-establishment of the Lithuanian-Polish diplomatic relations.
The event will be attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Audronius Ažubalis, former Ambassador of Lithuania to Poland Antanas Valionis, first Ambassador of Poland to Lithuania after the re-establishment of diplomatic relations Jan Widacki, first director of the Polish Institute in Vilnius Wojciech Wróblewski and first cultural attaché of Lithuania in Poland Evaldas Stankevičius.Participants will remember the first year after the re-establishment of diplomatic relations and the role of diplomats at that time. They will also discuss further perspectives of bilateral relations.
J.Widacki and W. Wróblewski will be awarded “Lithuania’s Diplomacy Star”, the award of honour of Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Lithuanian-Polish diplomatic relations were re-established on 5 September 1991.
For the attention of the media: the awards ceremony will take place at 3:40 p.m. on 6 September, at the press center of the Foreign Ministry. The round table discussion will begin in the Gediminas Hall at 4:00 p.m. You are welcome to attend.
