DEVELOPING LITHUANIAN-LATVIAN BILATERAL COOPERATION
On 31 July Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas on a delegation led by Lithuanian Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas paid a visit to Latvia.
Minister Vaitiekūnas discussed with Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Artis Pabriks issues of Lithuanian-Latvian bilateral cooperation.
The Ministers underlined that it is important to continue to devote close attention to promotion of cooperation between two Baltic States - Lithuania and Latvia. According to the Head of Lithuanian Diplomacy the creation of Lithuanian-Latvian Parliamentary Assembly should contribute much to it.
Cooperation of Lithuanian-Latvian border regions and activities of Lithuanian-Latvian Forum were also addressed in the meeting.
The delegation also met with Latvian Prime Minister Aigars Kalvitis, Lithuanian businessmen working in Latvia, visited Lithuanian school in Riga.
