COOPERATION WITH NEIGHBOURING LATVIA IS BEING STRENGTHENED

On 13 July Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas and Latvia's President Valdis Zatlers, who came for a one-day official visit to Lithuania, discussed the issues of bilateral relations in Vilnius.

During the conversation the officials discussed cross-border cooperation, activity of Lithuanian-Latvian forum, joint infrastructure and energy projects, regional cooperation.

Latvia's President and Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs exchanged their opinions on important issues of the European Union, the European Neighbourhood and security policy.

During his visit to Lithuania, Latvia's President V.Zatlers was received by President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus and Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas.
