COMMON COMMERCIAL POLICY ISSUES WERE DISCUSSED IN BRUSSELS
On 21 November Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis took part in the informal meeting of the EU trade ministers and the EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson in Brussels.
Such meetings that take place 2-3 times a year allow to discuss the issues of the EU Common Commercial Policy.
The main attention was paid to the Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on 13-18 December in Hong Kong.
In preparation for the Conference constant multilateral negotiations on agriculture and non-agricultural market access, service market liberalization and other issues take place.
At the Conference it is planned to make interim decisions especially on the interests of the less developed countries in the globalisation process. That would prompt the WTO members to continue multilateral negotiations and complete them at the end of 2006.
