The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania is awaiting the final official results of the presidential elections in Belarus as well as the conclusions drawn by Lithuanian and international observers who have monitored the election process, the Director of Information and Culture department Petras Zapolskas informed. It is important to clarify how democratic and free the elections were, Zapolskas said. According to the Ministry official, the isolation of Belarus would not correspond to the interests of the region.
