Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe Antanas Valionis, currently on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, today expressed his deep satisfaction about the decision of the House of Representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to adopt the full set of constitutional amendments which had been agreed upon by the political parties of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 27 March, 2002. He noted that the Narodna Skupština (National Assembly) of the Republika Srpska for its part has adopted a set of constitutional amendments which is a first step going in the right direction opening up wider participation in public institutions of the Bosniak and Croat communities as well as other minorities in the Entity. However, since not all the amendments as agreed on 27 March 2002 were accepted in the Republika Srpska, the Chairman expressed the hope that the amendments on the remaining points would very soon be enacted also for that Entity.
