CIVIL SOCIETY REPRESENTATIVES FROM EUROPEAN AND MEDITERRANEAN COUNTRIES TO GATHER IN VILNIUS

The Annual Meeting of Heads of Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) to be held on 21-24 November in Vilnius. It will bring together heads of national networks of non-governmental organizations from European and Mediterranean countries who will share their experience in promoting intercultural dialogue and good practices in the region that confronts complex crises and change.

The meeting will evaluate the ALF activities in 2013, the best implemented projects and initiatives will be presented, and the next year’s programme will be discussed. At the meeting, the best authors of the 2013 intercultural initiative will be awarded.

This will be the first meeting of the heads of network in Lithuania.

The Anna Lindh Foundation is an organisation for cooperation between European and Mediterranean countries. It is a network of civil society organisations involved in the promotion of intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding, solidarity and tolerance in the region.

Among the 43 member countries of the ALF Foundation, there are 28 EU member states and Mediterranean countries, such as Albania, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Mauritania, Monaco, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestine, Syria (suspended), Tunisia, and Turkey. Libya enjoys an observer status.
