Business networking event at Lithuanian Embassy
On 2 November, a networking event for companies participating in the trade mission in South Africa was organized at the Embassy of Lithuania. The event was attended by representatives of South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation, the Agricultural Business Chamber, the Southern Africa Shippers Transport and Logistics Council, companies such as Fort Engineering, Kuehne + Nagel, Iced Technologies, and others.
In her welcome speech, the Ambassador of Lithuania Sigutė Jakštonytė noted that in today’s globalized world there was a need to look into ways to improve cooperation. This is the first Lithuanian business mission to South Africa, but it certainly will not be the last. Plans for business promotion events in the coming year are already being developed.
The Director of the Export Department at Enterprise Lithuania Jurgita Butkevičienė presented business conditions and potential opportunities for cooperation in Lithuania.
On 2 and 3 November, the Embassy hosted individual business meetings between South African companies and the following Lithuanian companies: Baltic Filter, Dinapolis, Dzūkijos Furniture Factory, Auga, and Ruvera.
The business mission was organized by Enterprise Lithuania and funded under the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds programme of the European Regional Development Fund.
