Budrys to meet with German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Wadephul in Vilnius

On Monday, January 5, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Kęstutis Budrys will meet with the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Johann Wadephul, who is arriving in Lithuania for his first visit.

The Ministers will discuss Lithuania's and Germany's strategic partnership and the opportunities it offers, cooperation within the European Union and NATO, support for Ukraine, and international efforts to achieve a sustainable and just peace.

One of the main topics of the meeting will be strengthening the security and defence of NATO's frontline states, the resilience of the Baltic Sea region to hybrid attacks, and progress in permanently stationing the German 45th Armored Brigade in Lithuania.

The meeting will also address bilateral projects in the fields of security, defence industry, economy, education, and culture, as well as preparations for the German cultural season in Lithuania in 2027-2028.

The bilateral meeting will be followed by a press conference of the Foreign Ministers of Lithuania and Germany.
