Budrys to attend the EU's Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg

On 15 June, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, will participate in the European Union's Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg. The main topics of the meeting are the EU support for Ukraine and measures to increase pressure on Russia, including sanctions.

During the meeting, Ministers will also discuss the situation in the Middle East in light of the latest developments of the war in Iran, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and its effects across the region, and the state of play of relations between the EU and China with a focus on security threats posed by China.

The Council meeting will be preceded by an informal exchange of EU foreign affairs ministers with the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan.

The FAC meeting will be followed by the Intergovernmental Conferences with Ukraine and Moldova, which will open the first accession negotiations clusters.
