Budrys to attend a Ministerial Session of the Council of the Baltic Sea States in Warsaw
On 4 March in Warsaw, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kęstutis Budrys, will attend an informal ministerial session of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS). The Council is organised at the invitation of Radoslaw Sikorski, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, as the country currently holds the Presidency of the CBSS.
Ministers of ten states, in the presence of EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, will discuss the situation in Iran, the Middle East and Gulf region, preparations for the NATO summit in Ankara, the implementation of the defence-strengthening commitment made by the allies in The Hague, NATO's Baltic Sentry and Eastern Sentry operations in the region.
The meeting will also address Ukraine's peace process, security guarantees for Ukraine, and its integration into the EU.
Founded in Copenhagen in 1992, the Council of the Baltic Sea States is a regional intergovernmental organisation bringing together the countries of the region and the European Commission. The CBSS aims to enhance political dialogue, practical cooperation, and ensure the security, sustainability, and prosperity of the region.
