Budrys presented Lithuania to Miami business representatives as a reliable and attractive partner in the face of global challenges

On 18 March in Miami, Florida, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, met with representatives of the Miami business community.

During the meeting with representatives of Miami's tourism, port, aviation, Chamber of Commerce, innovation, and international trade organizations, Budrys presented opportunities for investment in Lithuania, a business-friendly regulatory environment, and the country's investments in defense, as well as a great interest in expanding economic cooperation with the U.S. The Minister emphasized Lithuania's economic resilience and significant progress the country made in the field of innovation.

“It is in our interest to deepen our economic partnership with the U.S. in a wide range of areas, especially those of strategic importance. This is the path to greater economic resilience. Lithuania is a centre of experience and knowledge with practical insights on how to counter Russia's hybrid activities and China's economic coercion", said the Minister.

Budrys highlighted promising directions for further strengthening economic relations, innovation, and overall resilience: aviation and space, defence, financial technology, life and biotechnology. The Minister underlined readiness of Lithuania's Government to cooperate with the U.S. companies interested in opportunities in Lithuania and to create favourable conditions for investment and business development.

The meeting was co-organised with the Delegation of the European Union to the United States. It was also attended by the Ambassador of the European Union to the United States, Jovita Neliupšienė.
