On 6 February in Washington, D.C., the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, together with the Foreign Ministers of Latvia and Estonia, met with the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Jim Risch.

The meeting focused on the need to maintain support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression and measures to achieve a lasting and sustainable peace.

“The priority now is to come together and strengthen Ukraine. The leadership of the United States is crucial. The common strategic goal of the West must be not only to end the war in Ukraine but to stop Russian aggression,” said Budrys.

NATO’s role in strengthening capabilities for deterrence and defence, along with preparations for the NATO Summit in The Hague were also discussed.
