Budrys met with Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs in the Philippines
On 24 July, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, met with Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan, on the sidelines of the conference commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia. The Lithuanian and Singaporean Ministers discussed the development of bilateral relations, international security issues, support for Ukraine, and opportunities for cooperation in the fields of innovation and security.
“Security in the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific regions is inseparable today. Therefore, we seek even closer cooperation with Singapore in the areas of cybersecurity, strengthening resilience, and security and defense,” noted the head of Lithuania's diplomacy.
Budrys welcomed the ongoing practical cooperation between Lithuania and Singapore in cybersecurity, including the regular exchange of assessments of cyber threats and risks.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the partnership between Lithuania and Singapore in the areas of security, technology, trade, and international law.
