Budrys discusses expanding Lithuania-US cooperation in the space sector with NASA representative in Europe
On 21 October, Minister of Foreign Affairs Kęstutis Budrys met with NASA Representative in Europe Gregory Mann to discuss strengthening cooperation between Lithuania and the United States in the fields of space, innovation and advanced technologies.
During the meeting, the Minister stressed that Lithuanian space technology companies are already creating significant added value for the US space industry and are ready to become even more actively involved in joint projects and international supply chains.
“Lithuanian companies have demonstrated through their achievements that they can be reliable high-tech partners on a global scale. Companies such as NanoAvionics and Astrolight are successfully contributing to advances in space technology, and we therefore see clear potential to further expand cooperation between Lithuania and the United States in this field,” Budrys said.
The Minister emphasised that Lithuania seeks to promote the closer integration of Lithuanian technologies into US space projects and to strengthen bilateral ties in business, science and innovation.
According to Budrys, Lithuania’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2027 will provide further impetus for strengthening transatlantic cooperation in the space and defence sectors.
“Lithuania and the United States enjoy increasingly close cooperation across a wide range of areas. Lithuania’s Presidency of the Council of the EU will provide an excellent opportunity to give fresh impetus to transatlantic projects,” Budrys said.
NASA Representative in Europe Gregory Mann is visiting Lithuania at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is participating in the Lithuania-US Science and Innovation Forum as a keynote speaker.
