Budrys confirms to American Jewish Committee‘ CEO that the Lithuanian government is committed to fight anti-Semitism
On 15 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, met with the CEO of the American Jewish Committee (AJC), Ted Deutch, on the margins of the Munich Security Conference.
The meeting focused on the Holocaust commemoration projects, the situation in the Middle East, Lithuanian-Israeli ties and AJC’s relations with the Lithuanian Jewish Community.
“Despite tragic historical lessons and international efforts to address them, anti-Semitism continues to exist, taking new and insidious forms in the international community. We appreciate and support the active efforts of the American Jewish Committee, together with other international Jewish organisations, to raise the issues of the fight against anti-Semitism on a regular basis,” noted the head of Lithuania’s diplomacy.
Budrys also confirmed the commitment of the Lithuanian Government to fight anti-Semitism and ensure Holocaust remembrance.
The American Jewish Committee was founded in 1906 in the United States. It is one of the oldest Jewish advocacy organisations in the world.
