Budrys attends the EU's Foreign Affairs Council (Trade) meeting in Brussels
On November 24 in Brussels, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kęstutis Budrys, is attending the European Union's Foreign Affairs Council (Trade) meeting.
Ministers will take stock of the EU’s ongoing trade negotiations with India, Southeast Asian countries, the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, and other partners. The Council will discuss the diversification of EU trade relations, the protection of sensitive sectors, the upgraded EU-Ukraine Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA), and additional measures on products imported from Russia and Belarus.
The Council will also focus on countering Chinese export controls and mitigating their negative impact on the EU’s economic security. Ministers will also exchange views on measures to strengthen the EU’s resilience, diversify supply chains, and ensure economic security.
Ministers will assess the implementation process of the EU-US agreement. The European Commission will present annual reports on the implementation and simplification of trade policy. Lithuania will also inform the Council about the ongoing Belarusian hybrid attacks.
