Budrys at a meeting with members of the American Chamber of Commerce: "The United States has been and will remain Lithuania's strategic partner"

On 13 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, met with members of the American Chamber of Commerce.

The Foreign Minister and the business community discussed the new Government's foreign policy priorities, economic relations between Lithuania and the United States, and foreign and security policy issues.

"Better planning, early preparation, and speed of decision-making are the only way forward in these times of existential challenges. The U.S. has been and will remain a strategic partner of Lithuania," stressed the Foreign Minister, asking the audience to spread this message more widely.

Budrys stressed that constructive dialogue between the public and private sectors would continue to deepen and called on businesses to communicate proactively the problems related to the country's economic environment. Noting the successful development of Lithuania's financial technology and cyber security sectors due to a favourable legal framework, Budrys highlighted that breakthroughs in other sectors, in particular defence, would be pursued similarly.

The head of Lithuania's diplomacy told the event participants that the security and defence industry, energy, bilateral trade and technology were priority areas of cooperation with the U.S.

The American Chamber of Commerce is an international business organisation that has been operating in Lithuania since 1993 and unites more than 200 U.S. and Lithuanian companies and entrepreneurs. The association's mission is to represent the business interests of its members and contribute to improving the business environment in Lithuania. Members include IT companies, service centres, pharmaceutical companies, legal and business consultants, accommodation providers, manufacturing companies, and other business sectors.
