Budrys: “A united and strategically acting Europe  – response to current geopolitical challenges”

On 17 January in Vilnius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, and the French Minister Delegate for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Benjamin Haddad, discussed bilateral cooperation, regional security, support for Ukraine and defence cooperation.

At the meeting, Budrys welcomed the strengthening of relations with France, thanked France for its active involvement in ensuring the security of Lithuania and the Baltic states, and underlined the need to continue cooperating in support of Ukraine.

“France is a reliable partner in ensuring long-term stability in the Baltic region. This is especially important at a time when we are facing new threats. Our unity in support of Ukraine is essential for a sustainable long-term peace,” said Kęstutis Budrys.

The meeting also discussed cooperation between Lithuania and France within the European Union and NATO. Budrys stressed that a united and strategically acting Europe is a response to the current geopolitical challenges.
