BILATERAL LITHUANIAN-BELGIAN COOPERATION AND EUROPEAN INTEGRATION PROCESSES WERE DISCUSSED IN VILNIUS
On 27 October Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas received the new Ambassador of Belgium to Lithuania Filip Cumps.
The participants of the meeting welcomed excellent bilateral relations between both states that are evidenced by this year’s state visit of the King of the Belgians Albert II to Lithuania and discussed possibilities of further bilateral cooperation.
Foreign Minister and Belgian Ambassador exchanged opinions on European integration processes. Minister Vaitiekūnas stressed that the aim of the European integration is strong and united Europe in the world politics and global market.
Foreign Minister and Ambassador of Belgium identified the EU common energy policy and energy security as a major priority.
Belgian Ambassador Crumps showed interest in Lithuania’s experience in the eastern neighbours of the EU, particularly in Belarus where Minister Vaitiekūnas had served as Lithuanian Ambassador.
