BILATERAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN LITHUANIA AND SPAIN REGARDING REPRESENTATION IN INSSUANCE OF SCHENGEN VISAS ENTERS INTO FORCE

The bilateral agreement between Lithuania and Spain regarding representation in issuance of Schengen visas enters into force on June 1. In compliance with the agreement, Lithuania will represent Spain in issuing Schengen visas in Armenia, and Spain will represent Lithuania in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Kenya, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.
After the agreement enters into force, residents of Armenia wishing to come to Spain will be able to apply for a Schengen visa at the Lithuanian Embassy in Yerevan. Residents of the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Kenya, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic wishing to come to Lithuania will be able to apply for a Schengen visa at Spanish embassies in these countries.Earlier Lithuania concluded similar agreements with Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Norway, the Netherlands, France, Slovenia, Slovakia, Hungary and Germany. Currently, Lithuania is represented in 52 countries in various regions of the world. Lithuania represents other Schengen countries in 12 countries.
