BELARUSIANS INJURED DURING THE TERRORIST ATTACK IN MINSK ARRIVE IN LITHUANIA FOR A REHABILITATION
On 15 September, ten Belarusian citizens who were injured during the terrorist attack in metro in Minsk arrived in Lithuania for rehabilitation in Palanga and Abromiškės. In Vilnius, they were received by Political Director of Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eitvydas Bajarūnas.
The bomb attack occurred in metro in Minsk in the evening on 11 April. 15 people died and several hundred were injured.At the meeting with Belarusian citizens, E.Bajarūnas noted that Lithuania reacted with sympathy to the disaster in the neighbouring country and the Ministry of Health of Lithuania offered free rehabilitation in Lithuanian health care institutions to injured people. The Government of Lithuania has allotted 50 thousand Litas for this purpose.
Lithuanian Ministry of Health coordinated the rehabilitation programme for Belarusians in Lithuania together with the Embassy in Minsk. In cooperation with the Belarusian authorities, a group of 10 people was formed. Taking into account the seriousness of injuries, 6 patients will be placed in the Baltic Rehabilitation Centre in Palanga and 4 patients will go to Abromiškės rehabilitation hospital in Elektrėnai Municipality. They will stay there for 24 days.
