Eight foreign ministers of the Baltic and Nordic (NB8) countries will meet in the Lithuanian seaside resort of Palanga on 25-26 August.
The meeting will bring together foreign ministers of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Denmark.
The session will discuss the future of Nordic-Baltic cooperation after Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia joined the European Union and NATO earlier this year, touch upon relations with the neighbouring states - Russia, Ukraine, Belarus - and countries of the South Caucasus.
The ministers will also evaluate aspects of security policy following the NATO summit in Istanbul in June, address the situation in Iraq, Afghanistan and Western Balkans as well as other urgent issues of cooperation.
The ministers will also meet with initiators of the Middle East Geneva Accord - Yossi Beilin and Yasser Abed Rabbo.
Political directors of foreign ministries of the Baltic and Nordic States will attend the session in Palanga as well.
