BALTIC AND NORDIC FOREIGN MINISTERS HOLD A VIDEO CONFERENCE TO DISCUSS TOPICS FOR THE EU’S FOREIGN AFFAIRS COUNCIL MEETING
On 24 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius and his counterparts from the Baltic and Nordic countries (NB6) held a video conference to discuss the main topics for the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council meeting, which will take place next week in Brussels. The Foreign Ministers discussed issues related to Syria, the EU’s Southern neighbourhood, focusing on Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia, also Mali, the developments in the Middle East peace process, and the EU Common Security and Defence Policy.
NB6 (Nordic Baltic Six) unites Nordic and Baltic countries members of the European Union: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. It has already become a tradition for representatives of these countries to meet and discuss the agenda before each Foreign Affairs Council meeting. Utilizing modern technology in order to save time, the Foreign Ministers held a video conference to discuss the main topics.
