AN AGREEMENT ON AVOIDANCE OF DOUBLE TAXATION BETWEEN LITHUANIA AND SOUTH KOREA WAS SIGNED IN SEOUL

On 20 April Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Korea Ban Ki-moon signed a bilateral agreement on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal violations.

“This is an important step in development of cooperation between our countries and especially our businessmen,” the Head of Lithuanian Diplomacy said.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister invited the Chairman of the National Assembly of South Korea Kim Won Ki  and Korean Foreign Affairs Minister Ban Ki-moon to visit Lithuania in autumn on occasion of the 15th anniversary of establishment of relations between Lithuania and South Korea.

“By autumn, when Lithuania and Korea mark the 15th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations I invite to negotiate several more agreements and sign them in Vilnius,” Minister Valionis prompted.

The Ministers discussed further prospects of bilateral relations, international topicalities, shared experience of dealing with occupation heritage issues.

Current visit of Lithuanian Foreign Minister to South Korea is the second in the history of bilateral relations.
