Ambassador of Lithuania presented credentials to the President of Bangladesh

On 7 January, Wednesday, Lithuanian Ambassador Laimonas Talat-Kelpša presented his credentials to the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid. 

After the ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, the Head of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Ambassador of Lithuania discussed the bilateral relations and the possibilities for strengthening them.

Ambassador Talat-Kelpša urged Bangladesh to use Lithuania’s economic potential and possibilities in the sphere of business, logistics and education more effectively.

In 2013 bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Lithuania totalled 6 million euros, including 4.11 million euros of Lithuania’s export to Bangladesh. Aircraft and their components, flax and dairy products constituted the largest part of exported goods.

Bangladesh ranked the 80th on the list of Lithuania’s foreign trade partners.

Lithuania’s Ambassador to Bangladesh resides in Delhi, the capital of India.
