Ambassador Jauniškis presented his letters of credence to the NATO Secretary General

On 29 April, Ambassador-designate Darius Jauniškis, Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), presented his letters of credence to the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte.

At their meeting the focus was on the Alliance's continued support for Ukraine, which is defending itself against Russian aggression, and on preparations for the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague. The NATO Secretary General thanked Lithuania for its significant contribution to the overall security of the  Alliance.

On 18 April 2025, Ambassador Darius Jauniškis replaced the outgoing Ambassador Deividas Matulionis as Lithuania's Permanent Representative to NATO.
