Ambassador J. Raguckienė presents her letters of credence to President of Montenegro
On 10 July, the Ambassador of Lithuania to Croatia Jūratė Raguckienė presented her letters of credence to the President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović in Podgorica.
After the ceremony, the interlocutors discussed opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations in the fields of economy, culture, education and science, as well as cooperation within the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
J. Raguckienė said that Lithuania strongly and consistently supported aspirations of Montenegro's EU membership and was ready to share its experience. She welcomed the intensifying bilateral relations over the recent years at the interparliamentary, ministerial, and other institutional level, as well as the visits by Montenegro’s Foreign Minister and President this year. J. Raguckienė and M. Đukanović also discussed the epidemiological situation and challenges posed by it.
The President of Montenegro affirmed that the EU membership remained among Montenegro’s top priorities and thanked Lithuania for its support to the region’s integration aspirations.
Lithuania and Montenegro established their diplomatic relations on 18 July 2006. J. Raguckienė is Lithuania’s fourth Ambassador to Montenegro. She resides in Croatia's capital Zagreb.
