AGREEMENT IS SIGNED BETWEEN LITHUANIA AND THE STATES OF GUERNSEY FOR THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION RELATING TO TAX MATTERS
On June 20 in London, the Ambassador of Lithuania to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and North Ireland Asta Skaisgirytė Liauškienė signed the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and the States of Guernsey for the Exchange of Information Relating to Tax Matters. For the States of Guernsey the Agreement was signed by Chief Minister of Guernsey Mr Peter Harwood.
The aim of the Agreement is to enhance and facilitate the terms and conditions governing the exchange of information relating to taxes. Upon its entry into force the State Tax Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania and Director of Income Tax of Guernsey shall provide assistance through exchange of information relevant to the administration and enforcement of the laws concerning taxes, in particular, information relevant to determination, assessment and collection of such taxes, the recovery and enforcement of tax claims, investigation of tax matters or the prosecution of criminal tax matters in relation to such persons.
The Agreement will come into force once it is ratified by the Parliaments of both countries.
