AGREEMENT BETWEEN LITHUANIA AND MAURITANIA FOR THE RECIPROCAL PROMOTION AND PROTECTION OF INVESTMENTS IS INITIALLED

After bilateral consultations in Vilnius, the Agreement between Lithuania and Mauritania for the Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments was initialled on September 4. The entry into force of this Agreement is to promote and protect the interests of investors of either country on reciprocal basis and create favourable investment conditions.

The Agreement is expected to be signed at the 67th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in September 2012 and shall enter into force when the parties have notified each other that their respective ratification procedures have been completed.

The parties have decided to conclude this agreement in order to further enhance the economic cooperation between Lithuania and Mauritania.
