Africa Day 2020 events kick off in Lithuania

On 25 May, the Africa Day is celebrated in Lithuania and around the world. This day has been celebrated in Lithuania since the 1999. On this occasion, various cultural and educational events cultivating deeper and closer knowledge of the African continent usually take place in Lithuania.

This year, the Africa Day events will run until 1 June. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most events will be broadcast remotely. TV shows and podcasts will be aired, and webinars will be offered.

Thus, thanks to modern technology, everyone who wishes to participate in the Africa Day events, will be able to join in.

Partners of the Africa Day initiative include the Lithuanian National Radio and Television, the National Platform of Non-Governmental Development Cooperation Organizations, the Africa research and consulting centre AfriKo, pop bands Afrodelic and African drums, etc.
