ACTIVITIES OF OFFICE OF THE HIGH REPRESENTATIVE IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA DISCUSSED IN VILNIUS
On 16 October in Vilnius, the Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrius Krivas met with Valentin Inzko, the High Representative of the International Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting discussed the international community’s efforts to rebuild the country, consolidate security, and secure stability and prosperity after the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina that came to an end in 1995.
The conversation focused on important issues related to cooperation between the European Union and Bosnia and Herzegovina, implementation of the European perspective of the Western Balkans region, the EU’s support, and activities of the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the meeting, the guest presented activities of the Office and reviewed future prospects. Internal political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, progress in the field of European integration and challenges for the country’s further development were also discussed. The High Representative thanked Lithuania’s current Presidency of the EU Council for supporting the mandates of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina and of the Office of the High Representative.
The Office of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina oversees implementation of civilian aspects of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the rule of law, and supervises activities of state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
